Little brown worms in my carpet. A reader wrote to us a week or so ago about some 1 4 inch quarter inch black worms she is finding in the carpet of her house. You must throw the vacuum bag out immediately or the fleas will be back. An adult carpet beetle won t cause your home any harm. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of their larvae.
Our reader says she is desperate to be rid of these creatures which come out during the night and make spending time on her porch uncomfortable as. The reader says that the worms look like the ones found in old baking flour. Now these worms are in me and my caregiver under the skin.
I also have clear looking ones. I dont know what to do. I also have tiny thin worms but some are very long literally making designs in my carpet. First do a thorough vacuuming of the entire carpet.
Carpet beetle larvae can eat holes in rugs curtains upholstery clothing and books. Tiny brown worms in carpeting are usually flea larvae. No matter what type of larvae you are dealing with it is best to remove them as quickly as possible through meticulous cleaning. The larvae appear to be hairy little worms and can be found on or near carpets clothing and in some instances dried food products.
I also see some shells from them i guess they shed their skin they look like mealworms just smaller. Two major home invaders are the carpet bug better known as the carpet beetle and the maggot which is actually a house fly larvae. When the reader says tiny she means it as she only estimates the worms to be about a quarter of an inch or six millimeters in length. What you might think is worms in your carpet is most likely the larvae of assorted insect species such as spider moth and fly larvae.
