Live Load For Parking Floors

I have a residential tower 36 story and i want to find the design loads live loads and sustained dead loads in t m 2 for technical and parking floors.
Live load for parking floors. Some occupancies must be designed for appropriate loads as approved by the authority having jurisdiction. Live loads can be prescribed to any structural element floors columns beams even roofs and will ultimately be factored into a calculation of gravity loads which we ll explain below. Local building codes specify the minimum live load that floors must be able to bear. Though the residential structure is prescribed a 40psf minimum live load the parking garage must be capable of supporting a cargo truck weighing 3 tons.
The objective of this study is to obtain a better understanding of live loads in passenger cars parking garages and to recommend an appropriate value for design. A reduction shall not be permitted in passenger vehicle parking garages except the live loads for members supporting two or more floors are permitted to be reduced by a maximum 20 percent the submitted reason is reproduced below. The international residential code on which most local building codes are based requires that floors in non sleeping rooms must support a minimum live load of 40 pounds per square foot and floors in sleeping rooms must be able to handle a live load of 30 pounds per square foot. However those that carry less weight or interior movement like that of two story office buildings may suffice with steel or wood.
Alternate floor live load reduction. However if the attic is intended for storage the attic live load or some portion should also be considered for the design of. S14 02 which was approved lowered the floor live load. Live load reductions are not permitted for specific types see code.
2 3 live loads 2 3 1 general the live loads used for the structural design of floors roof and the supporting members shall be the greatest applied loads arising from the intended use or occupancy of the building or from the stacking of materials and. 2attic loads may be included in the floor live load but a 10 psf attic load is typically used only to size ceiling joists adequately for access purposes. Load surveys were conducted in nine parking garages in chicago and urbana champaign ill and boston and cambridge mass. I am currently using the asce table 4 1 minimum uniformly distributed live loads lo and minimum concentrated live loads as a reference to find the loads for the typical floors but it doesn t refer to either technical floors nor parking.
Loads should be determined in accordance with this chapter.
